For Dad: 4 Activities for Father’s Day

Your Dad is worth an out-of-the-box activity on his special day! We’ve put together a small, fun list with relevant links to get what you need for your favorite fellah. Show him a great time with this fun, short list!

Movie Marathon on the Lawn:

There’s nothing that says “I love you” like letting your #1 guy have full control over the remote. Set up the ultimate Die Hard or Lord of the Rings movie marathon on the lawn.

Supplies:

  • Inexpensive projector
  • Screen (a sheet can work in a pinch!)
  • Popcorn (maybe splurge for a vintage popcorn popper to add the the ambiance)
  • Blankets, Pillows, and Lawn Chairs
  • Don’t forget the Jujubees!

Cornhole Tournament:

If you’ve got a competitive dad, maybe a tournament of sorts is right up his alley! Invite all the dads for a Cornhole Competition and some kebabs. White tennis shoes required.

Supplies:

  • Cornhole boards and beanbags
  • Scorecards
  • Cooler of drinks and snacks
  • Grill and kebabs!

For an Old-Fashioned Dad who longs for simpler times, locate a local Father’s Day Car Show. This dose of nostalgia is sure to warm his heart. 

Supplies:

  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Cash for food trucks and raffle tickets

Papa Bear Picnic:

With this fun, simple activity, you can customize it completely to your special guy. More into mountain biking? Throw your supplies in a backpack and hit the trails! Beach bum dad? Load up a cooler and head for the shore. Homebody? Throw a soft blanket down in a local park or the backyard and go with a classic basket set up. What REALLY matters is the food and the company!

  • Food transportation and consumption methods (baskets and forks, y’all)
  • Family!
