Pulling dandelions by hand may help you take out your frustrations in a healthy way but as a method of weed removal, you’re not doing much. These yellow flowered perennial weeds root down 2-3 feet and need to be completely extracted or killed with a weed remover.
This clumpy grass-like weed can really destroy the aesthetic of a beautiful lawn. It looks patchy and scraggly and can multiply like no one’s business! If this perennial is left to its own devices, it will quickly take over your yard year after year.
The name says it all… you don’t want this in your yard. Its stems can grow 3-9 inches in height and stick out like a sore thumb. It’s an annual so luckily you just have to deal with each weed once without worrying about a comeback.
Another hairy weed, these purple members of the mint family tend to take over thinning grass and stick up 12 to 16 inches high. That’s a tall weed!
The name alone is off putting! Yuck. Wait til we tell you that this weed grows in large tangled mats, spreads easily, and releases a sap when any part of the plant is damaged.
