The doors are the windows to the house…wait, that’s not quite right. Well, one thing is for sure: your front door is the focal point of your home. This year, we thought we should dress our doors up for a Halloween night on the town. Your perfectly groomed lawn will bring in the parents, (be prepared for them to ask you how you got it looking so good!) and your door décor will bring in the trick-or-treaters.
Dressing your door up with spooky tales, is so simple! I mean come on, it’s already a rectangle! All you need is a little construction paper and paint. You can also use this opportunity to read chilling or classic stories to your kiddos and add each new book to the door after they are familiar with the tale.

Buy a few vintage brooms from a craft store (this time of year they will be on sale!) and all you will need is a drill, some nails and an awesome cackle to go along with your door’s new personality.

Tis the season to be morbid, so you it’s off to the morgue we go! You will want there to be three rectangles symbolizing the morgue drawers and of course…handles on the side on the off chance we want to let the poor souls out, eek!

Let’s face it, things never turn out how they do on Pinterest, so, instead of resisting imperfection…lean into it! Candy corn doors are a simple way to team up as a family and create something super cute. Grab your scissors, cut some triangles and decorate the candy corn in a way you see fit!

Frankenstein’s monster was seriously misunderstood…now is his chance to be represented as the friendly creature he was intended to be! Use your front door to slap a smile on your monster’s face and show he’s not so scary. There are also endless options of traditional characters you can present…mummy’s, vampires, jack-o-lanterns, oh my!

You’ve already done the dirty work of making your front yard look great, it’s only fair you dress your house up to match!
